 Η 6η Μπιενάλε Σύγχρονης Τέχνης Θεσσαλονίκης με θέμα “Φαντασιακές Εστίες” ξεκίνησε στις 30 Σεπτεμβρίου και θα διαρκέσει μέχρι τις 14 Ιανουαρίου 2018 : με χαρά σας προσκαλώ στο Μακεδονικό Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης όπου παρουσιάζω το έργο «HOME». 

 Το “HOME” έχει μια προσωπική αφετηρία που είναι η πραγματική και η συμβολική αναζήτηση για το σπίτι της γιαγιάς μου στο Burdur της Τουρκίας (πρώην Πολυδώριον). Παρακολουθεί τη διαδρομή της αναγκαστικής μετανάστευσης που πήρε το 1922 από το Burdur στη Σμύρνη. Πρόκειται για ένα αναστοχαστικό έργο, ένα οπτικό ημερολόγιο,που συμπεριλαμβάνει φωτογραφίες, βίντεο, συνεντεύξεις, αρχειακή έρευνα, προσωπικά και άλλα αντικείμενα που βρέθηκαν από τις περιοχές όπου συνέβη η αναγκαστική μετανάστευση. Η ανταλλαγή ημερολογίου «Χαρτογραφώντας το ίχνος» με τον Αποστόλη Αρτινό συνοδεύει το έργο. 

 Το έργο μου ‘Home’ ξεκίνησε κατά τη διάρκεια της συμμετοχής μου στο TANDEM -Τουρκία 2015-6. Είμαι ευγνώμων στις οργανώσεις και τους ανθρώπους που υποστήριξαν την έρευνά μου και το εγχείρημα : την Irem Argat και την Serra Özhan-Yüksel από το Anadolu Kultur, την Sarah Herke και Henrieke Moll από την Mit Ost, τον Philipp Dietachmair από το European Cultural Foundation, την Stiftung Mercator και φυσικά την Tandem εταίρο μου Nazlı Deniz Oguz .

 I am delighted to invite you to the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art where I am presenting my work ‘HOME’ in the framework of the 6th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art with the theme “Imagined Homes”. 

 “HOME” has a personal starting point which is the actual and symbolic quest for my grandmother’s house in Burdur, Turkey (formerly Polydorion). It traces the route of the forced migration that she took in 1922 from Burdur to Izmir. It is a self-reflective project, like a visual diary, including photographs, video footage, interviews, archival research, personal and found objects from the areas where the enforced immigration has happened. The diary exchange ‘Mapping of a trace’ with Apostolis Artinos accompanies the work. 

 My work ‘Home’ started during my participation in TANDEM -Turkey 2015-6. I am grateful to the organisations and people that supported my research and work : Irem Argat and Serra Özhan-Yüksel from Anadolu Kultur, Sarah Herke and Henrieke Moll from Mit Ost, Philipp Dietachmair from European Cultural Foundation, Stiftung Mercator and of course my Tandem partner Nazlı Deniz Oguz.
